I gave up at this point. The deal definitely makes you say Hmmmmm

26 June, 2006

Once again you go an hour without seeing 1 pocket pair....

....then:

16 June, 2006

I can't say it enough. Never go all in on-line against the chip leader.

I know this proves nothing. I mean he could obviously afford to call no matter what he had. But, he of course got exactly what he needed once again. Which is the norm on-line. Fun to look at any way.

Now that we have determined who has "the seat" lets took a look at my last hand in this tourney. Sampson (with his long hair) had been bullying the table. Why not? It auto deals him what he needs every hand. So I finally get a playable hand. Big Slick. The BB is $300 so I raise it 1 bet to 600. All fold except seat 1. At this table "the seat". He of course continues his usual style (as expected) and goes over the top with another raise. I move all in and he calls.

Here's the board.

Taa daaa

12 June, 2006

When you got "the seat" you got "the seat"

It always favors one seat in it's "random" deal. Here we see the chip leader in seat 2 goes all in preflop.

What a surprise.

11 June, 2006

And another thing.

Another thing you will notice is if you were doing well at a table and suddenly get moved to another table it is almost always setting you up to lose. This was this case for me tonight. Knowing this I played very tight. My first tip that this was the set-up table for me to lose was this.

I didn't play in this hand. But, the winner of this hand (with the QQ) went on to have "the seat".

First hand I played in ended up like this

I'm in seat 8.

Then this

Then this

And so on and so on and bad beat and bad beat until it finally gave all my chips away as we knew it would.

Hmmmmmm Avatars

What's with these 3 images on Poker Stars? People can upload any graphic they choose but, at almost every table you will see at least one of these 3 odd images. I don't know what it means. But, it seems very odd to me that so many people would choose these images to use.

10 June, 2006

And people still believe they don't stack the deck. Hahahaaaaa

And all 3 players were all in before the flop.

09 June, 2006

Here's something else to watch

Notice how all the stacks go up in a pretty gradual climb and then there is a big jump between 1st and 2nd. This is a constant in on-line poker.

07 October, 2005

There have been MANY bad beats over the past few days

All typical miracle on line deals.

Here's one to enjoy.

17 September, 2005

I know what you're saying.

Over seen this one. Once again don't go all in against someone who has been winning right along and has a chip lead on you. It appears to me no matter how bad their cards (or how good yours) they will suck out.

Later the same night I try again. this is the 4th hand.

Over saw this one. The player who has a chip lead and wins here is also the chip leader and one who wins in the next screen grab.
Did you play in a sit n' go tourney today and lose to a bad beat that only happens a few times a year to a player in a casino but daily on line? Of course I did.

Here I am at the final table. The seat in the lower section has already taken out 4 players. They have AK he has J7 and gets deal JJ and so on. Here it's my small blind. I have only 4k and he goes all in so I call. You try and guess the rest.

16 September, 2005

Today's go

I was moved to this table and got dealt pocket 10s. I go all in and get this stupid call

Next hand seat 8 went all in and I called with the 675 I had left and made a pair and won. Then the next hand I get dealt an A and either being on tilt or just having gave up I move all in and get yet another stupid call from the same player 2 hands before
Idiots paradise

At this final table I had 6k. I sat back and watched the chip leader out draw over and over taking 4 players out. He finally lost a hand to seat 4 and I was dealt 77 the very next hand so I move all in.

It never changes.

15 September, 2005

Today's SNG. DDSS

Look who has won 90% of every hand dealt. What a joke.

Very next one. I don't like slow playing big pockets. I of course go all in with KK. But, when Mr auto dealt win after win called I knew I had lost before I even saw his cards.

You can't make this shit up.

And you don't have to. I don't know what it is. Does the software reward risky play and punish tight play? I don't know, but I do play tight. I played in 2 Sit 'N Go tourneys today.

All in after the flop I get called by bingo player with a K 3. What a stupid call. I moved all in. Any decent player would have to put me on at least a K with a decent kicker. I had 2 pair and he was beat. Of course it's on line poker so he is dealt a K on the turn.

Again playing tight. I get 25 on my big blind. The flop comes 25Q and the Player (who has a Q) bets 200 into me. I of course go all in and he of course calls. Again I have this player beat. But wait this is on line poker.

12 September, 2005

Another look at the chip leader

From my observations. If they go all in preflop and get called by someone with more chips (which of course is not uncommon) the chip leader will more often then not win.
These are all from one SNG today.

It's getting beyond laughable.

First SNG today. All in preflop with JJ

Second SNG today
All in preflop with Big Slick

I give up. Again.

10 September, 2005

Riddle me this...

This is the second hand in this SNG. Can you guess who won the all in on the first hand?

09 September, 2005

Another look at THE SEAT

Player went all in preflop with QQ of course. 99 calls and so does...

Very next hand

...and 2 or 3 hands later

You get the picture. I hope.

...and the next day

All in preflop with suited connectors. Only way he wins is to get dealt a 3. He has 2 outs. Think he'll get it?

All in preflop with suited connectors. Get called (For over 4k I might add) by Q 4. Who do you think is a favorite in this hand?

06 September, 2005

Today's SNG

Made it to the 3rd hand. Can you guess who won the first 2 hands?

04 September, 2005

Played in a couple Sit 'N Go tourneys today.

Lucky me I got dealt JJ. Oh Joy!

Can you guess who had won every hand so far? Hint he is in the hand but the only one who still has over 3k in his stack. Think he'll win again? Oh the suspense is killing me.

One player has AK, another has Q 10 clubs and the last has 7 8 clubs. Who wins? Oh yeah 7 8 clubs has won just about every hand.

Surprise!

Next game first hand. "Shuffle up and deal!"

Blech.

Pocket Pairs For Everyone!

Just a few more "random" deal shots.

Spent the day playing Sit 'n Go tournaments

People ask me why I play if I don't like the dealing on line? I wondered the same thing for a while. Why do I get sucked back in only to get ticked off by improbable deal after improbable deal? Then I realized it's the action I love. I LOVE POKER! When I lived in Las Vegas the days were few and far between that I didn't go to my local poker room. I knew all the dealers and most of the regulars by name and they knew me. But, it only took me 10 min to get there. Now it takes over and hour so I don't go as often. But, man I love the action. I truly hope that one day someone will open an on line poker site that.....well is dealt like cards are dealt in a real poker room.

So today I spent the day playing in SNG tournaments. Which were tournaments consisting of 1 or 2 tables and saw 1 seat win over and over

And the good old pockets for everyone

And the good old pockets for everyone

Over and over and over and...

Maybe I should go back to the multi table on line tourneys?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaa

All in and the magic seat.

I played in a Sit 'n Go tournament tonight and one player announced I have to go I'm all in. We of course figured this was a cheap ploy, but he got a call from AK and Mr I have to go won with chit cards. OK. He says sorry and announces his cards to everyone each time and goes all in. He won 3 in a row taking out 3 players. It is now my big blind and he announces he has 3 8 and goes all in. Lucky me I have A 3 suited and call. As he said he has 3 8 offsuit. He would need 4567 to be dealt to get a straight. He would need 4 suited cards to be dealt to get a flush ( I would only need 3 diamonds). Realistically the ONLY way he will beat me is to get dealt an 8 (Since we both have 3s) and no Ace be dealt.

VOILA!

How can they be so dumb?

I started playing on new site (at least new to me). I just played in a Limit Hold 'em tourney and one seat continually won. Usually on the river. Everyone at the table had a few hundred to 800 in chips while he was well over 8K by the time I had to play my last chips on pocket 6s. I bet the whole way going all in. 4 players called the whole way and the board paired 4s and a K was dealt on the river. He made Ks & 4s on the river. The fact that on line tourneys ALWAYS go this way (one seat winning over and over no matter how bad their play) aggravates me. But, what annoys me even more is that other players at the same table seeing the same improbable deals happen again and again actually still believe that this is just a random deal. I just don't get it. Maybe it's just that I have literally spent 1000s of hours playing in casino games that I know the fact one player will win over and over and over in every tourney at every table every time is not just unlikely, but vastly improbable and they know nothing but these kind of deals. I don't know. But, more people need to take notice and start complaining. Or it will never change. I guess on line poker sites are making a fortune off this kind of stupidity or ignorance about random dealing and poker in general.

Oh My Huh?

Ever play Omaha? Today I played in a NL Omaha High Low tourney. Omaha is just like Hold 'Em except you are dealt 4 cards in which you must use 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board. In high low the high hand and low hand (5 cards under a value of 8 (i.e. A,2,3,4,5 is a nut low hand and a great high hand since it's a straight)) split the pot. So the typical bingo player skills you see in freerolls comes into play and this guy goes all in. With not the best hand for low since A 2 beats A 5 for low. As does A 3, A 4, 2 3, 2 4, 3 2 & 3 4. He does have A K which is a great hand in Hold 'Em, but not really an all in preflop hand in Omaha. So having A 2 which will give me nut low and almost guarantee me half the pot if any 3 low cards (cards from A -8) are dealt I call. Imagine my delight to see I flopped a set (222). I then noticed two hearts and even though our hold cards hadn't been flipped up yet I knew he must have 2 hearts (He had doubled up on the previous hand you'll notice) to go with the 2 on the board and another would follow. And like the sun rising and setting the deal didn't disappoint or deviate from the expected deal.

22 March, 2005

Let's take a look at a few hands in succession.

If you play in a tournament online you will be surprised to see that 1 or 2 seats winning over and over is common.
I set my video camera and recorded the action in a No Limit Texas Hold 'em game. Here's what we saw:

Seat 6 checked after the flop (We find out later he flopped a straight) and seat 9 bet $300 with a only a pair of 9s and a straight draw. Seat 6 called and here a 10 comes on the turn and seat 6 checks his straight again. Seat 9 bets.

Seat 6 has set the trap and raises with his straight forcing seat 9 to go all in if he calls.

Seat 9 called and is all in.
Since the turn is a 10 seat 9 now also has the straight.

Seat 9 and seat 6 split the pot

Next hand seat 5 (which is our seat. That's why we can see the cards) Has A 6 suited (Hearts) and raises 200 before the flop.

Seat 9 is the only caller. He has 10 5 suited (Hearts) and wins the pot on the river with 5s

The next hand we make a straight on the turn and take down the pot uncontested.

The next hand seat 9 raises $400 before the flop. Seat 4 then went all in for $950. (We had K5 again, but offsuit this time and fold)

Seat 8 went all in for $1045 and seat 9 called. These are the cards we then saw. Seat 4 has K 9 Spades. Seat 8 has A J offsuit. Seat 9 has Q 8 offsuit (Not a good call for over 2/3 of your chips)

As "luck" would have it seat 9 flopped a pair of Qs and neither of the other 2 players paired any cards. Seat 9 takes down another pot.

On the next hand we have A 9 offsuit. Seat 9 goes all in.

Since we just saw him call all in with Q 8 offsuit we call with the A 9. He's all in and we see has J 2 suited.

This is what was dealt. J 2 made two pair on the turn. Another win for seat 9.

Next hand (And remember these are all in a row. We haven't skipped any hands here.) we have A 6 offsuit and seat 9 goes all in again. (Why not? It seems he can't lose). He's been going all in with junk. And we are now relatively short stacked now. So once again we call with A.

The cards turn and he has Q 4 suited. He pairs the Q on the flop.

But that isn't enough he makes a set on the turn and of course wins another pot. And we are now out of the tourney.

We stick around to see one more hand and what do you know seat 9 goes all in. He has over 4k in chips now.

Seat 8 calls. Taking him all in. Finally he has been caught with his foolish betting. Seat 8 has A Q suited. One of the best hands you can start with in Texas Hold 'em. Seat 9 has has 7 3. One of the worst starting hands in the game. 7 2 offsuit is considered by most if not all experts to be the worst starting hand. Here he is at least suited, but they are diamonds same as the other player so he can't win with a flush.

Here we see the board. Seat 9 paired the 7 and seat 8 paired nothing. Seat 9 wins yet another pot. That was all I cared to watch.

And if you think any of this was altered you can see the action in real time.
The only edits to this are for time. The pauses in action were deleted.
